Starting this month, I’m off from work so I have more time to join meetings and I can also prepare myself before joining meetings. I realized it’s important to prepare myself beforehand so that I could experience God more in the meetings; especially for the Fasting Prayer Meeting. So that day, I stayed home to prepare myself. I used my free time in the afternoon to listen to messages and read the Bible.I also arrived in the meeting place 10 minutes earlier before the meeting so I have some time to stay in God’s presence and pray for the meeting.
After the meeting, I felt it was very abundant. I treasure more that we can practice together the important elements of sweet daily living: worship, thanksgiving, shouting for joy more joyfully, praying with wisdom and staying before the Lord longer. I also felt the Bible verse that we read in Psalms was the effect of the practices that we did. I personally felt the strength from God. So when I went home, I was surprised that I didn’t get hungry at all. Usually before, after a fasting prayer meeting, I would be hungry and have a headache. But that night, I felt my heart was full and satisfied and I can also overcome temptations easily. Much more, I feel I have more desire for God and I want to stay close to Him. The next morning, I didn’t feel hungry, but my heart was still full and joyful. I treasure that I can experience God in this way.
Also, this week, in a prayer meeting, when we stayed longer before the Lord, I felt the Lord speaking to me. He said three sentences to me:
“I desire you the most.”
“I love you the most.”
“I hope you can always see this.”
After that, I felt my eyes were opened, and I felt the Lord‘s longing. I shouldn’t focus too much on the things which I need to do, but I should always see His desire towards me, hear His calling and respond to Him. I feel this is the most important thing in my daily life.
Through my experiences, I treasure more I can be here in Vancouver and pursue together with brothers & sisters. May we experience God more in the days ahead.
