In the recent months, I have been paying closer attention to the news because of what is happening in the world, which reminds me again and again that the Lord is coming back very soon. This also urged me to have a greater burden to preach the gospel, and to pray with my 4 year old son everyday for people in other parts of the world to know God.
When the coronavirus situation got worse here, it was no longer news about other places, but it was hitting home. Though I knew God was holding all authority, when I read about the ever changing situation each day, it affected my emotions – I felt anxious and worried. Now, I have started to pray every time after I read the news. This practice helps me to focus back on God and how to co-work with Him, and even see this situation as a great opportunity instead!
Lately, I keep this verse to heart:
And this gospel of the kingdom will be proclaimed throughout the whole world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come.
Matthew 24:14 ESV
Though this verse is referring to the end of the 7 years of tribulations that the gospel will be preached to the whole world, but reading it again reminded me how God wants the gospel to be preached to the whole world right now, and how I should do my part to make this happen.
Through the current situation, God is preparing people’s hearts to be humbled, to see their needs, and to turn to Him. Just like after the 9/11 incident, many people went to church afterwards. This time, USA also set a day as Prayer Day, which would also remind lukewarm Christians to rely on Him again.
I pray more each day, and have greater burden to let people around me to know about God! I pray that this will start a revival among the Christians, and many will know Him before His coming! May we have the most glorious bride to welcome His coming!
