Bible Reading Gain from the book of Daniel – Thomas Chuah

Eric Lee and I have been chosen the book of Daniel as part of our weekly Bible reading plan. Right from the first chapter, I’m impressed by Daniel’s decision to set himself apart for God by not partaking of the king’s food. He made the decision from the start, rather than *after* having enjoyed the food. This reminded me that it is easier to resist worldly pleasures if we had never experienced them in the first place. Brothers and sisters may feel as though they’re missing out, but on the contrary this decision can be their blessing. I can see this by how God set Daniel apart from his peers as a result of his dedication to God.
