No one said that life on earth would be easy; even the Bible says that a Christian’s life is not smooth, but full of struggle (1 Peter 4:12-19). Whenever people come across trials or face important decisions in their life, they may pause and think logically for themselves, relying on their own understanding and what they think is best for themselves. Some may seek the advice of others, whom they love and trust.
Personally, I tend to take it upon myself to think through a decision, and also listen to the opinions from family members and close friends. Indeed, it is wise to do so, but when discussing with a sister about my issue, she reminded me, “Have you thought about asking God?”
I have, but I realized that I needed to ask more sincerely and directly, and with faith. The one who loves me most from the beginning, and knows my rising up and sitting down (Psalms 139:2) will prepare the best for me. Who else is better to ask than the Father and the Lord? The most powerful, capable, and loving Lord said, “Ask and you shall receive… how much more will your Father who is in heaven give good things to those who ask Him!” (Matthew 7:7-12)
I learned to use active faith in this situation and to rely on Him. I know He will open up a way. We can truly cast our worries and fears on Him (Psalms 55:22, 1 Peter 5:7), and give thanks in all things. He teaches us to overcome these worries: “Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, in everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.” (1Thessalonians 5:16-18)
Although the situation is not completely resolved yet, I feel settled, because God is taking care of all things- He is in control. In my heart, I feel that the situation is already resolved because I believe in His promises: “He causes all things to work together for the good of those who love Him.” (Romans 8:28)
