The Lord already told us the key on how to abide in the Lord. It’s true! It’s true! You will find yourself different when you are connected with Him. If you do not enjoy abiding in Him, you will not live normally. Eventually, you will need to go back to the origin. Our lives are more blessed than others because others cannot enjoy Him as their “resources”. Actually, He’s more than our resources. It’s our relationship with the Eternal Lord. Our life is bound up with His. It’s a love relationship with Him.
Let us read John 15:9. “I also have loved you”: He not only supplies us and makes us live better but He loves us. “As the Father loved Me”: Isn’t that wonderful? What the Lord said was really awesome. How did the Father love His Son? On that night Lord said two very important things. First, in His prayer He expressed His desire for the Father’s love for Him to be also in us. Second, He said how the Father loved the Lord, He loves us the same. Such love is the highest. It’s so wonderful that Abba loves us the same way He loves His beloved Son. Only God can love this way. It’s no surprise that He loves His beloved Son. But He loves me as He loves the Son! Only God can do so. We are so precious to Him that words cannot describe. How Abba loves the Son is how He loves us. Isn’t it great?! And the Lord’s love for us is just as great! Only God can do so. I believe it’s difficult for any father on earth to love those who are not his sons with the same love he loves his own sons. Only God can do so. In fact, we are truly Abba’s beloved sons and the Lord’s darling. His love has no reservation. That’s why we need to have the bravest faith. The more you believe, the more you can enjoy. It’s wonderful!
“Abide in My love.” “I love you so much, but you must abide in My love.” You need to enjoy His love. Babies need to be carried and touched. Otherwise, they might die. The effect is very deep. When babies cry, they stop once their parents carry them. You and I have the same need. We need to enjoy God’s embrace and our abode with Him. Even if the baby is not in its mother’s love, her love for her baby is the same. But the child cannot enjoy the love and warmth as much. Likewise, the Lord loves us very much, but we need to abide in His love. Not only is our life bound up with His life. Our abode with the Lord is the deepest, beyond the vine and the branches. It’s a “love abode”. He desires us to be in His love. Only then can we love Him back. It’s so precious the Infinite One has the deepest union with me. He wants us to be in His love. I was created out of His love dream. When you live in this love union with Him, being touched by Him, you are enjoying the abode in Him and in His love. Besides abiding in His love, we also need to obey Him.
Let’s read on. “Abide in My love”. John 15: 10-11 “If you keep My commandments, you will abide in My love, just as I have kept My Father’s commandments and abide in His love. These things I have spoken to you, that My joy may remain in you, and that your joy may be full.” Then you can live out the latter part of the passage: “That you love one another as I have loved you.” We cannot love one another without first abiding in His love. It’s so precious that if we keep His commandments, we can abide in His love. If we disobey Him, we must quickly repent. Otherwise, even though the Lord is loving you, you cannot enjoy it much and are troubled. If you disobey Him, all you will have are troubles. There is no good result. Paul said he counted all things as loss because there were things disturbing him. He wanted to gain Christ. And this is the way to gain Christ–the way to enjoy the Lord every day, being heart to heart with Him. I hope this expression can help you to understand more. He is living and real! If you do not live a life of abiding in Him, you’ll have no strength and no way out. In you He gives life, strength, and various spiritual blessings to help you to go from glory to glory. You need to live in His presence and His love. There’s no other way. In fact, this is His great love purpose. What could be more precious than having our life bound up with His? Not only that, but we are united with Him in love. When you live your life like this every day, you will love Him the most. We love because God first loved us. First abide in His love and enjoy it, you will naturally love Him back.
