Matthew 5:3-10 “Blessed are the poor in spirit, For theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Blessed are those who mourn, For they shall be comforted. Blessed are the meek, For they shall inherit the earth. Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, For they shall be filled. Blessed are the merciful, For they shall obtain mercy. Blessed are the pure in heart, For they shall see God. Blessed are the peacemakers, For they shall be called sons of God. Blessed are those who are persecuted for righteousness’ sake, For theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
This verse was recently shared on Sunday message and gave me a new insight of what it means to be blessed.
Blessed is defined to be happy and made holy. In conclusion, true happiness is to be close to God.
Before I always have an understanding that God is the active giver of blessing ( which it is still true) but I am the passive receiver of blessings. I can only be passively received and be blessed. However, this message gave me an new understanding. Today it is our choices that make us bless. God had already prepared all the blessings for us. The great King wants us to have everything and even Himself. If you choose to draw close to Him and dwell with Him always, you are blessed. I have always choose God over everything but I never realized by doing so, I am more blessed and this helps me refresh my desire for God more!
God bless me and I choose to be blessed. 🙂
