“Butterfly Campaign” this Summer at 123

July 15, 2015 – This summer, we have set team times by the canopy at the meeting place (Mon – Fri, 9-10 am and3:30-4:30 pm) for brothers and sisters to gather to have personal and team time. Through setting such conditions, we hope brothers and sisters can worship, pray and draw near to God more. For the first half hour, we will have personal and partner time, then at 9:30 am or 4 pm, we will worship and pray. Afterwards, we can tie a ribbon (“butterfly”) to the fence by the canopy with our name, date and any words to

Whole Church Fasting Prayer Meeting on Canada Day

July 1, 2015 – We started our monthly fasting prayer meeting at the beginning of this year. For 4 hours from 5 – 9 pm on the first Wednesday of the month, brothers and sisters lay aside meals and cares to worship and pray. Many enjoy the meeting, for we not only ask from God but we also seek His glory and worship Him. However, this time, the meeting fell on a holiday, which meant that many working brothers and sisters were able to attend from the beginning to the end. As well, Violin shared about the essence of fasting

Photo Exhibition: To Live

March 18, 2015 – In the whole month of March, Light and Love home had a photo exhibition in the Vancouver Public Central library. Many brothers and sisters took time and invited friends and family to view the pictures and captions of people’s lives from birth to death. Many were also impressed by the presentation, where many touching personal stories were shared to make us consider what it means “to live.” In this exhibition, it was easy to stimulate our

Visit to the Church of God in the Bay Area

Mar 6-8, 2015 – Sermon, Violin, Doris, Tuhien, Wai Ying and Keon visited the church in the Bay Area. It has been over 10 years since a Vancouver team last visited. In this trip, we shared about the Lord’s work in the past 10 years all over the world through the blessings of the charity work. Many were touched and the team was even more confirmed of God’s great work and commission. Though it was just a weekend visit, yet we were able to have a spiritual training meeting, a charity presentation to new friends and brothers and sisters (a

One is to lay aside all things and focus on the Lord. My mind is clearer and easier for the Holy Spirit to lead my meditation. Also, in my meditation, I consider the Bible truths related to the thought I’m thinking and I experience the Lord leading me to deeper understanding.   For example, during one team time, I was thinking about the word “infinite” after we sang the song about the Lord is more real

Choose to be blessed – Vicky Kan

Matthew 5:3-10 “Blessed are the poor in spirit, For theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Blessed are those who mourn, For they shall be comforted. Blessed are the meek, For they shall inherit the earth. Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, For they shall be filled. Blessed are the merciful, For they shall obtain mercy. Blessed are the pure in heart, For they shall see God. Blessed are the peacemakers, For they shall be called sons of God. Blessed are those who are persecuted for righteousness’ sake, For theirs is the kingdom of heaven. This verse was
